War, Work, and Resilience: Four Personal Stories

Hear from those who lived through World War II and go beyond the textbook.

Students will enjoy learning about the different experiences on the home front during World War II by reading oral histories from a female factory worker, a Japanese-American at an internment camp, a member of the Woman Army Corps and a farmer. Four images complement the oral histories to further student understanding. This can work as a Reader's Theater exercise with small groups, as independent reading or as a homework assignment.
